The Grand Theatre Inc. is a 501(c)3 corporation dedicated to bringing
arts and entertainment to downtown Frankfort.
2005 saw the acquisition of the Grand Theatre. In 2006, we reopened the
theater and had almost 7,000 paid admissions. We secured funds from the
Commonwealth of Kentucky and Franklin County Government of $4 million
and began restoration of the theater on January 2, 2008. The Grand Theatre
will open in the Summer of 2009 and will seat 414 in an intimate, high
quality multi-purpose visual and performing arts center.
This theatre will have state wide impact. It will bring educational opportunities
to Kentucky’s children. In addition it will provide the performing
arts, music and film to local residents and visitors from all over the
state.
